Step one

Get the free eero app

The eero app is your WiFi remote. Name your network, see every connected device, share guest WiFi, pause the internet at dinner and run speed tests, all from your phone.

Works on iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or later) and Android (9.0 or later). Turn on Bluetooth before you start.

  1. Tap Get started
  2. Sign in or create an account
  3. Enter the emailed code
  4. See your network
Path A

Just had your eero installed?

Your Dobson tech already connected your main eero to fiber. Here's how to make it yours.

Living room Solid white = online Online
  1. Sign in to the eero app with the same email used when your eero was set up. Your network shows up on the Home tab.
  2. Check the light. A solid white light means your eero is online. What the colors mean
  3. Connect your devices to your WiFi name and password. Then name them in the app so you know what's what.
  4. Set up a guest network and profiles for visitors and kids, and run a speed test to see your fiber at work.

Don't see your network after signing in? Call us at 855.5.DOBSON and we'll get it linked to your account.

Path B

Adding an extender?

Extra eeros fill in dead zones. Each one adds to the same network, so you keep one WiFi name everywhere.

Living roomOffice Main eeroExtender
  1. Pick the spot. About halfway between your main eero and the room with weak WiFi, out in the open and away from big electronics.
  2. In the app, tap the blue + on the Home tab, then choose Add indoor eero (or Add outdoor eero for an Outdoor 7).
  3. Plug in the new eero and stay close with Bluetooth on. The app finds it, or you can scan the code on the eero.
  4. Let the placement test run. If it says out of range, move the eero closer to another eero and try again.
  5. Name its location (like "Office" or "Back Porch") and tap Finish setup.
Watch: adding an eero in about a minute

eero Signal cellular backup device
Internet Backup

eero Signal

Cellular backup for your eero network. If your internet ever drops, Signal switches on automatically so you stay connected.

  • Network4G LTE or 5G RedCap
  • Works withUSB-C powered eeros, WiFi 6 or newer
  • PowerIncluded 45W adapter + Y-splitter
  • Needseero Plus or an equivalent plan

Good to know: Put Signal by the eero that gets the strongest cell signal, and wait for a solid white light. Signal makes no WiFi of its own and has no battery, so it won't run during a power outage without a backup battery.

Questions new customers ask

Where do I download the eero app?

Get it free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or later) or on Google Play for Android (9.0 or later).

Can I manage my eero from a computer?

No. eero networks are managed in the mobile app. Apple Silicon Macs can run the iPad version of the app.

Which eero do I have?

Open the eero app and tap any eero to see its model. You can also match it to the photos on this page.

Where should I put my eeros?

Keep each eero out in the open, up off the floor and away from large electronics. When you add another eero, place it about halfway between your main eero and the area that needs better WiFi.

Can I connect my eeros with an Ethernet cable?

Yes. A wired connection between eeros (called Ethernet backhaul) gives you the most speed between them. See how.

What does the light on my eero mean?

Each color and pattern means something different, from starting up to ready to go. See the full light guide.

What do I need to power an eero Outdoor 7?

It needs PoE+ (802.3at) power or better. Standard PoE (802.3af) isn't enough. Use the weatherproof PoE+ adapter, an eero PoE Gateway, or a PoE+ injector or switch.

Does eero Signal work during a power outage?

Signal has no battery, so it needs power to keep you online. Add a backup battery if you want backup internet during a power outage, too.

Who do I call if my WiFi isn't working?

Call Dobson Fiber tech support at 855.5.DOBSON, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
