Everett Dobson: Passing on the Legacy of Telecommunications
Everett Dobson grew up in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and came from a legacy of entrepreneurs.
Starting in 1936, Dobson’s family ran a business providing rural telephone services to Oklahomans.
After Everett graduated from SWOSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981, he joined the family business, and in 1988 he founded the cellular company called Dobson Communications Corporation.
His company became one of the largest wireless service providers in the U.S. before its sale to AT&T in November 2007. After the sale, Everett continued his business momentum and is currently CEO of Dobson Technologies.
