At Dobson Technologies, we not only do business across Oklahoma, we are also involved in making a better community through a variety of initiatives.
We are long-time supporters of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the United Way of Pottawatomie County, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. We are also involved in many civic organizations, including the Greater OKC Chamber, the State Chamber of Oklahoma, and several city Chambers. We’re taking it a step further in 2015. Dobson has launched an Employee Volunteer Program (EVP) which will allow employees to donate up to 16 hours of their time annually to a select group of local non-profit charities. As described by Sara Elledge, Director of Human Resources, “We are allowing employees to volunteer individually or as a team. The company is paying for their time off so that they can give back to the community. It is an important part of our culture and we encourage all of our employees to give back.” During the first quarter of 2015, Dobson featured Mayor Mick Cornett as guest speaker at our annual kickoff meeting in January. During the meeting we unveiled our Guiding Principle, “The Customer is our boss,” and nine corresponding fundamental beliefs. We were present at the annual State Chamber Legislative reception and our President, Frank Franzese, was featured on the State Chamber Business Roundtable broadcast with Chamber President Fred Morgan. In addition, Dobson was a Tote Sponsor at the Annual Make-a-Wish Foundation “If Purses were Wishes” luncheon. We had a presence at the Greater Oklahoma Chamber’s luncheon that featured Gov. Mary Fallin. We also hosted our annual Health and Wellness Fair where we invited over 25 local vendors who helped promote and educate our employees on a healthy living lifestyle. We are hard at work in the community and love giving back! Check back in June to see what we’ve been up to in the second quarter and beyond! Want to read more Dobson blogs?
