General Summary

Coordinates Human Resources responsibilities such as employee relations, recruiting, training, development, compensation, payroll, fleet management and benefits administration with the Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Generalist carries out these functions at all business locations.

Essential Job Functions

The scope of the Human Resources Generalist position is:

  • Conduct background checks (reference, criminal, E-verify and employment checks)
  • Recruiting and new hire orientations
  • Benefit administration including annual open enrollment
  • Fleet administration
  • Workers’ comp and property claims administration
  • Maintain I-9, benefits, and employee files
  • Handles confidential information including employee and applicant records
  • Review and update job descriptions and organizational charts
  • Maintain employee data on Human Resources system
  • Input and verify all payroll entries, process payroll and all payroll tax filings
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Assist with corporate events
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with employees, vendors and customers

Experience or Education

  • Two to three years of human resources direct experience with recruiting, payroll, fleet and benefit administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word are required
